For those who haven’t seen the movie it stars Joaquin Pheonix, Gwyneth Paltrow and Venessa Shaw. and is loosely based around Dostoevsky’s “White Nights”.
The film is a modern day romantic drama set in a largely Jewish Russian neighbourhood of New York.
Phoenix plays a troubled young man who moves back to his parents after a recent breakup. His parents endeavour to help him through his troubles by introducing him to the sweat and caring daughter (Vanessa Shaw) of local family friends.
It is at the beginning of this relationship that Phoenix spots a gorgeous young female (Paltrow) recently moved into the same apartments and new to the area, but she is involved with a wealthy married man…
